Best lax Twitter handles ranked

So we went in search of the best Twitter handles in the lax world. It’s one thing if your lax game is strong, but if your Twitter game is strong as well, now that’s saying something. Most of what we found was your run of the mill firstnamelastnamejerseynumber, but a few players stood out for their creativity. Obviously some names lend themselves to cooler handles than others but still, you have to at least try.

1. Brendan Bomberry, Syracuse @leftybombz: No. 1 in your program and No. 1 in the NCAA in scoring, currently, this one takes the cake. It’s accurate and it's just plain catchy.

2. Justin Guterding, Duke, @guterball14: Clearly this refers to his ability to score in bowling not his ability to score on the lacrosse field. See our comment above about some names being easier to twist for Twitter naming purposes. Still, very nice effort by the young lad.

3. Matt Rambo, Maryland, Charlotte Hounds @RattMambo: Yeah, yeah, yeah we know. This took him like zero effort. Still, the fact he made the effort earns him props because he ended up with a pretty cool moniker as a result.

4. Deemer Class, Duke, Charlotte Hounds, @22classy: Tons of options here but he went with an understated yet classy (yep, we went there) approach. He gets credit for putting a better effort into his Twitter name than we did for that last joke.

5. Greg Gurenlian, Penn State, NY Lizards @gregbeast32: A fellow PSU alum, we put him on here because we were honestly afraid of what he might do with his legarms (those are arms as big as most people’s legs) if he found out he wasn’t on the list.

6. Ric Beardsley, Syracuse, @unclerickybeast: The sage veteran (read: old man) of the group, we honestly just wanted to see how many handles with the word ‘beast’ we could get on here. Plus, he's one of the five people who follow us and we love his old school hit highlights on YouTube. If not for Edwin Jean Baptiste snagging @beastbaptiste first, we’d of had Trevor Baptiste for the trifecta.

7. Shack Stanwick, Johns Hopkins, @Shacktus42: Again, one of those names that potentially lends itself to a cool Twitter moniker. He too could’ve gone in a bunch of different directions but instead chose, well we aren’t quite sure what he chose but the mystery just adds to it.

8. Wells Stanwick, Hopkins, Charlotte Hounds@wild_wild_wells: Again, the name helps but we were just trying to see how many of the kids from the Stanwick lacrosse enterprise we could get on this list.

9. Mike Orefice, Loyola, @mikeyfaceoff: Take your name, add your position and voila, instant Twitter title.

10. Brock Turnbaugh, Hopkins, @brickhouse_29: Given that he’s a goalie, this is a stellar call on his part. Really, though he’s on here because went with this look in his team photo. Well played, Amos.

11. Coach Pietramala, Hopkins, CoachPetro43: No other coach even comes close.

12. Peter Tagliaferri, Georgetown, @hashtagliaferri: Good use of modern social-media jargon. Not such a good use of your profile pic.

13. Rory McElligatt, Furman, @MacAttack028: We’d of gone with Big Mac Attack but then again, we are old and not too many people probably remember that commercial.

14. Kenzie Kent, Boston College women’s lacrosse, @unkentrolable: The next two are on here for the sheer fact BC's two-sport star and one of her assistant coaches have almost identical Twitter handles and as best we can tell, it’s a total coincidence. How does that happen?

15. Kayla Treanor, Boston College women’s lacrosse assistant, @unkaytrain_able
